i think tis is rubbish! Marryin a dog? The dog wears the same Thali a women wears? there is no respect? i wonder which priest or astrologer would have come with such a remedy! so what now? they will have kids too? Everyone is going to laugh at indians now!

The North Indian equivalent to a thali is the mangal sutra. Both involve TYING something around the woman's neck. And the thali is NOT the focus of the damn article - the marriage is.

Either way, these rituals are completely irrational, as most cultural/religious rituals usually are.
Tie a noose around a woman's neck to symbolise she is married, while a man does not need to. Wonderful. And we wonder why women are marginalised in India.

i agree with almost everyone. This article has brought embarrassment to indians in general. Imagine when people of other ethnic races see this article. The only thing they would do is laugh and say look at these indians....are they dumb or wat? they wnt particularly say hindus frm india...so all indians frm evrywhre are being discriminated by other races because we have such acts called culture within us. I hope in tis 21 century, atleast the indians frm other countries do not encourage such acts!

The guy kills 2 dogs 15 years ago and it wasn't even done in self-defence. The dogs were just doing their 'thing' and minding their own business and he had to just kill them because they happen to have a better 'social life' then him. I guess his situation didn't improve after 15 years.
